Replication

24/7 availability of IT systems and corporate data is critical in order to compete effectively

In the Data Centre technology and best practices are applied to ensure business continuity. However to account for complete failure or inaccessibility of the primary data centre, a secondary data centre with failover systems in a remote location is essential.

Replication creates a second, live copy of the corporate data enabling a business to continue uninterrupted.  Increased competition/Price reductions for WAN links have reduced the entry point for businesses to roll out effective Disaster Recovery solutions.

The type of replication deployed depends on several factors such as the clients Recovery Time Objective (RTO), Recovery Point Objective (RPO), distance between sites, bandwidth & method of connectivity between sites, type/brand of underlying server & storage infrastructure and budget.

Site to site replication can be synchronous or asynchronous, array-based or host-based, physical to virtual, virtual to virtual etc.

As with other Data Centre Solutions and technologies, Richardson Eyres takes a consultative and flexible approach to client requirements for business continuity.  We assess the requirements and recommend a solution that is fit for purpose and within the client’s budget.

Replication is often the natural 2nd phase to our successful completion of a consolidated and more highly available primary data centre project.  We combine our flexible and consultative approach to replication with a track record, skill and talent that is second to none.

Our key partners for replication include several of the leading storage array manufacturers, the host-based solution providers and virtual machine replication providers.  We also have effective partnerships with service providers for WAN connectivity and 3rd party co-location facilities to host the DR Data Centre.
